RAMCOA Glossary
Some pages of this site and some entries of my blog discuss RAMCOA and programming, of which I am a survivor. However, not everyone necessarily knows what those are, so this page is intended to define some of the terms and concepts that I would mention in my posts on the topic.

☽ Alphabet programs: This term refers to a set of programs that someone can be programmed with and where the general nature of the programs are sorted by a letter of the Greek alphabet. For example, there is a base program called "alpha programming" meant to make the victim receptive to commands, but sexual programming is known as "beta programming", programming that causes one to be violent is called "delta programming", programming meant to make you believe you are non-human is called "epsilon programming", etc. It is not entirely certain where these terms originated. Some people believe the names of these programs originate from conspiracies and therefore say you shouldn't use these terms. However, some survivors do remember being programmed using these terms, and even if they originate from certain conspiracies, there are abusers who copy the content of conspiracies in real life.

☽ Cue: Anything you're supposed to respond to that activates your programming. Trigger phrases given by handlers are cues, but music, images, or even life events can be cues.

☽ DBMC: Drug-Based Mind Control. This is related to programming. An abuser puts you under the influence of drugs and conditions you to think you are someone else or to respond to a certain cue, which makes you easier to abuse.

☽ Deprogramming: Any kind of recovery from programming that undoes the strength of the programming responses. This does not have to be done by a specialist, as some "regular" mental health recovery can constitute deprogramming in a programmed system.

☽ Forcigenic: An origin term for a system that was created due to someone forcing it to split, usually with subsequent abuse of headmates. This is part of an umbrella of terms that was coined on Neocities on the site Forcigenic, and many of the terms apply to programmed systems.

☽ HC-DID: Highly Complex Dissociative Identity Disorder. This is a community term for systems that are complex due to RAMCOA.

☽ Internal handler: A headmate whose goals are aligned with the programmer's and reinforces the programming in the innerworld. These headmates can be reformed but may have a history of abusing other heaadmates.

☽ OEA: Organized Extreme Abuse. It's synonymous with "organized abuse". Some people treat this as an "alternative" to RAMCOA, but certain things are covered in the RAMCOA acronym that aren't inherently covered by OEA (e.g. someone who was programmed by just one person).

☽ Organized abuse: Abuse that is perpetrated by people working in a group. Human trafficking, cults, and abusive schools are all organized abuse. Some people say this term includes "abuse done in an organized way", but the "organized" in this term is more like its use in the term "organized crime"; that is, it's in reference to something that occurs on a mass level instead of just an individual level.

☽ Programming: A form of abusive mental conditioning that occurs in two forms. One is in the form of any mental conditioning done as a part of organized abuse. The other is a specific process of mental conditioning in which abuse, trauma, drugs, dissociation, and/or hypnosis are used/exploited to cause a victim to follow commands on cue. Some people have much more rigid ideas about programming than this - e.g. that it can ONLY occur as part of organized abuse, or that the process can only occur during the timeframe that DID develops - but these are the definitions I follow when I talk about programming.

☽ RAMCOA: Ritual Abuse, Mind Control, and Organized Abuse. Those terms are defined on this page. The acronym is a community term intended to relate several experiences of extreme abuse that are not necessarily the same but have a lot in common. Some people consider this term outdated or "bad" (specifically antisemitic), and I don't always use this term, but "ritual abuse" is a different term than "Satanic ritual abuse" (which is part of conspiracies that ARE often antisemitic), and the concepts the acronym describes do happen in real life.

☽ Ritual abuse: Any kind of abuse that is done in a ritualistic or ritualized fashion. This can be for religious rituals, but it can also be "ritual" in the sense of something specific that is done in the same pattern every time.

☽ Screen memories: False memories a programmer causes you to have on purpose. They can be normal (e.g. they abuse you then tell you something innocent happened) or bizarre (e.g. they abuse you and tell you it was aliens).

☽ Script: A script is something that is used to program somebody. Normally, people talk about scripts that are based on movies and media (e.g. Alice In Wonderland), but a script can be based on anything, including an original story or real events.

☽ Sidesystem: A discrete structure within a system that can best be described as another system that exists paralell to the "mainsystem". Some people say this term is RAMCOA-exclusive, and I personally don't agree with that, but they are a major feature in most programmed systems.

☽ SRA: Satanic Ritual Abuse. The supposed ritual abuse by Satanic organizations. This is a largely discredited concept and is part of the Satanic panic. It also ties in with antisemitic conspiracy theories, which is why some people say "RAMCOA" is an antisemitic term. The "RA" in "RAMCOA", however, is a separate concept to SRA, and any memories people have of being abused by Satanists are likely part of screen memories as part of other programming or abuse.

☽ TBMC: Trauma-Based Mind Control. Similar to DBMC, but where traumatizing you (e.g. torturing you, threatening you, showing you graphic images when you are a child, etc.) is used for the same ends as drugs in DBMC.
